About APH Construction
In 1994 both Larry and Mike worked together at Cilco Power Company in
Springfield. Separately, each of them built their own houses that year. They
each enjoyed the building process and found they shared an interest in
construction. With a third partner, they decided to form a company and see how
things worked out.
In the beginning, they focused on smaller projects to help them learn more about
the business. They were hired for several electrical and plumbing repair
projects. Word spread of their reliability and quality of work. They began to
take on larger projects such as finishing basements into living space.
In 1998, they began their largest project, their first house. As their
experience mounted, they built more and more houses and condominium's each year.
After a series of tornadoes came through Springfield in the spring of 2006,
major damage occurred to the area electrical systems and power was lost to homes
and businesses for over a week. Later in December of the same year, the area was
once again hit with severe weather. This ice storm brought power outages for
more than 5 days for some area residences. APH decided to contact one of the
biggest names in the home generator market, Briggs & Stratton. They are now the
sales and installation representatives for Briggs & Stratton Home Power Systems
for Sangamon County, IL.
